Grade EN 24 is a medium carbon steel alloy with relatively high concentrates of nickel, cadmium and molybdenum. This type of steel is not ideal for welding, but is an excellent alternative in manufacturing industries. The En 24 is extensively used to manufacture automotive parts such as gear shafts, pistons, etc. Controlling the tempering and quenching of the steel can improve its strength, and give it a wider range of uses.
